Do you deliver? Yes, delivery is available and quite recommended for all tiered cake orders. The delivery fee is variable, based on distance.
How much notice do I need to give on a particular order? The sooner the better! We try to accommodate all orders but if you first contact us one month before your major event we can't promise our availability. A general guide is no less than 3 months notice for wedding orders and 2-3 weeks for other orders.
Why do your cakes cost more than the grocery store? Excellent question! Our cakes are priced higher for several reasons. First of all, the quality is much higher. We mix all our cakes and icings from scratch, using real, fresh ingredients to ensure that your cake is of the highest quality rather then being packed with preservatives. This takes more time but we promise it's worth it! Secondly, our level of design is greater than what you will find at most grocery stores. We take extra care to create your cake to your specific liking. A third reason, is quality customer service. We care about you and your cake and our desire is to see you with a cake you can be truly excited about! We understand that sometimes you must feed a crowd on a budget. Or maybe you don't find cake to be of importance. If this is you, there is no shame in choosing a grocery store cake. But if you prefer a high-quality, custom made cake then we'd love to make it for you!
What is the difference between tiers and layers of cake? A tiered cake is one that has cakes in different sizes stacked together. A layer is a single "slab" of cake. Usually one tier contains several layers of cake.
How do you handle cancellations and refunds? For weddings, you may cancel your order anytime up to 3 weeks before your event. For any other orders the cancellation deadline is 1 week before the event. At that time you will be refunded any payments you have made, minus the deposit.
What deposit do you need to save my date? A nonrefundable deposit of $80 is required to hold your date on our calendar.
Can you explain the difference between filling, and flavored buttercream? Filling is what goes between the layers of cake. In general, buttercream goes on the outside of the cake but it can also make a great filling! For example, maybe you want a white buttercream iced cake, but you would really like peanut butter or coffee buttercream with your chocolate cake? No problem! Use the flavored buttercream as your filling and ice the cake in white! You get your flavor and you get the elegant white look you always wanted.
